Painting the New Space

As you might have seen if you've been following the MELD Workshop Facebook page, the space has been repainted both upstairs and downstairs. This has helped spruce it up quite a bit. Before it was just white and dirty white, now it’s a nice shade of blue (Capricorn Blue, according to Dutch Boy Paint’s naming scheme) and a cool gray.

There's finally a high-speed internet connection, although due to a lack of fiber in the area, it’s limited to 7 Megabit download speeds. Still plenty to stream instructional videos, as long as there’s not more than a couple person doing so at the same time.

There are a couple workbenches upstairs and one large workbench downstairs, with more to come once I see how the current ones get used. There’s also a few desks upstairs, and I’m working on getting the members lounge a couple of couches, a small conference table, mini-fridge and a microwave. The coffee machine is already set up and running (priorities smile ).

I want to make sure that if an idea springs forth, there’s no excuse to say “I didn't have a place to write it down!;, so there are multiple whiteboards throughout the space. I can't wait to see the ideas that will come to life!
