As you might have seen if you've been following the MELD Workshop Facebook page, the space has been repainted both upstairs and downstairs. This has helped spruce it up quite a bit. Before it was just white and dirty white, now it’s a nice shade of blue (Capricorn Blue, according to Dutch Boy Paint’s naming scheme) and a cool gray.
There's finally a high-speed internet connection, although due to a lack of fiber in the area, it’s limited to 7 Megabit download speeds. Still plenty to stream instructional videos, as long as there’s not more than a couple person doing so at the same time.
There are a couple workbenches upstairs and one large workbench downstairs, with more to come once I see how the current ones get used. There’s also a few desks upstairs, and I’m working on getting the members lounge a couple of couches, a small conference table, mini-fridge and a microwave. The coffee machine is already set up and running (priorities ).
I want to make sure that if an idea springs forth, there’s no excuse to say “I didn't have a place to write it down!;, so there are multiple whiteboards throughout the space. I can't wait to see the ideas that will come to life!
